Families are Forever

I got a phone call this morning that my Grandpa Strong passed away suddenly last night. This is the first chance I've had to sit down and think about it. I wasn't able to make it to this reunion a few weeks ago, but am so glad our small family was able to stay with them about a month ago. It was a Montague family reunion, so we were very busy, but we were able to spend some time with Grandpa, Grandma, and Natalie. And it made me so happy to see Grandpa with my own kids... reading them stories on his lap, playing the organ, picking fruit, and admiring them. And Grandma and Natalie holding my baby and talking with the kids. (Grandma got Will to eat a raw potato!) I just keep thinking about how much I'll miss Grandpa, but then I also think how happy he must be in heaven to see all those people who have gone on ahead. As I told Will about it, I told him that Grandpa is with Heavenly Father. That's also where Baby Allison just came from. I was reading some other family blogs and each one told about how he had sealed their family together in the temple. He sealed me to my husband also. I know that Grandpa is with Heavenly Father and that he has been welcomed with open arms by all those who have gone on ahead.
