These pictures are of some lovebirds that have been frequenting our garden. We ended up with lots of giant sunflowers that the birds love and right before we left on vacation, 5 lovebirds started coming to eat the seeds.
This was our first stop...Kanab. We decided to break up our drive up and stopped in Kanab. We found this beautiful park with a splash pad that the kids enjoyed.
This is almost to the cabin in Brian Head. This is a lake that has no streams feeding into it. It was formed by a lava flow hundreds of years ago and has been there ever since.
Dave driving the Astrovan. We bought it from my parents and have enjoyed it. :)
This is also almost to the cabin at Brian Head. It's called Cedar Breaks and was beautiful. It was also pretty chilly up there, especially coming from Kanab. The elevation at the cabin was over 10,000 ft. high. Needless to say, some of us suffered from altitude sickness, but it sure was beautiful.
My family were good sports and participated in the wacky olympics that I put on. I think most had fun, especially the medal-winners.
Here's the actual peak...probably the highest our family has ever been. There was a road to drive to the top. It was freezing up there...and I forgot to pack a jacket on the trip at all! Thanks Dave for bringing two and letting me use one.
Here was a little hike we took the kids on..
We took the scenic drive to Salt Lake to Dave's family reunion. We saw the Manti temple...one of my favorites.
We stopped by Alpine and saw my Grandma Strong...she just turned 90 last month!
The other olympic games at a park in Holladay.
Medals for everyone!
Later at temple square. I love the flowers, and especially the soft Utah grass. (Mckenzie got slivers in her foot from our pokey Arizona grass a few weeks ago.)
The girls loved this part. We went to the church history museum (too bad there were only 15 min. until closing when we got there) and they found this exhibit where they could dance with the skirts on.
The long drive home. We had to do it all at once. This is getting to the indian reservation. Let's just say the last half was hard, but we survived.
